PROJECT DESCRIPTION
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
SokoFund needed four new financial products launched while its core feature was already broken. I redesigned the foundation, built the new products on top of it, and applied the brand consistently across everything in 1-2 months, designed for Africa's workforce including first-time digital banking users

THE PROBLEM
THE PROBLEM
SokoFund's Ikimina (savings group) feature was broken and eroding trust. Inconsistent UI patterns made the app difficult to navigate. The business needed to launch four new financial products; salary advances, loans, device financing, group contributions while fixing what already existed. The real challenge: how do you expand a product when the foundation is already confusing users, many of whom are factory workers using a smartphone for financial services for the first time

KEY DECISIONS
KEY DECISIONS
I fixed the broken Ikimina foundation before touching any new product, applied progressive disclosure to reduce cognitive load for low-literacy users, and treated brand application as a trust mechanism rather than an aesthetic choice the previous version had none

SOLUTION
SOLUTION
Rebuilt Ikimina, designed four new financial products on a unified system, and applied SokoFund's brand consistently across all surfaces. Every flow uses progressive disclosure and plain language to reduce friction for users encountering digital financial services for the first time
